Introducing William Tyndale

Sarah Poyntz is the daughter of an English merchant who operates a shipping business from Antwerp, Belgium, in 1535. Her father is very interested in the ideas of William Tyndale, who has fled England as a condemned outlaw for refusing to stop his translation work of the English Bible. Tyndale believes that the Word of God should be read by the common people in their own language, a belief shared by the Poyntz family.

But when Tyndale is captured and imprisoned, Sarah becomes the only hope for saving his fife. If she can successfully smuggle a copy of Tyndale’s New Testament into the hands of the king’s wife, Queen Anne, perhaps she can persuade him to spare Tyndale’s life.

If Sarah’s desperate mission fails, her family is in peril of their lives.

Will she have the courage to go through with it? Can Tyndale’s life be spared?

An adventure story, ideal for readers 8-12 years of age.

The Queen Smuggler Trailblazer Books Book 2 edition by Dave Jackson Neta Jackson Children eBooks Reviews

This book is really interesting. Holds you glued. The description says up to 12 years, but I'm older and I liked it.

I have read 3 books of the Trailblazer series and they all are entertaining and at the same time tell you about big Christian leaders.
Hope you like them as much as I did.
This is the second book about Tyndale that I have read for school this year, and I must say that I enjoyed this one more. The other one I read (The Bible Smuggler by Louise Vernon) did not seem to give as good an element of danger. It said it was dangerous, of course, but Sarah's story made me feel more afraid for her. Especially as she also came to the realization that her life was on the line—it was not just a fun adventure.
Sarah's story is a thrilling story about a young girl trying to help her friend--Anne Boleyn. Anne Boleyn, King Henry VIII second wife, met Sarah three years before when Sarah saved her from drowning in a fast-flowing river. Mr. Thomas Poyntz, Sarah's father is a great friend of Sir William Tyndale, and when Tyndale is put in prison, he does everything in this power to get him out. Sarah knows, however, that without the consent of the king nothing can be changed. Sarah convinces her father and mother to let her go to the castle to serve as one of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting. Within the first few days, Sarah gives the little New Testament book to Queen Anne. When the beautiful young queen tries to show God's word to the king, he responds in fury, claiming that whoever brought it in his house would be punished severely. After that, the queen sends Sarah home to protect her from the king's wrath. By the end of the book, Tyndale has been burned at the stake. Yet, the King has put his stamp of approval on the English Bible. And Tyndale's prayer ("O lord, open the King of England's eyes.") is answered.
Sarah Poyntz (though a fictional character) shows great character in this story of the Gospel. I believe that it is important to know the history of our faith, and all those who died so that we can be free to believe the Bible and read it for ourselves. William Tyndale is a great man of our faith, and this book of Sarah's courage shows him to be just that. I enjoyed Dave Jackson's The Queen's Smuggler. I think that this story is written well, and quite historically accurate. I would recommend it to any looking for a good book.
Great book really explained what William did. such a sacrifice he gave his own life for the gospel one of the best books ever
